Steven Van Zandt, the E Street Band guitarist who played Silvio Dante on “The Sopranos,” is selling his duplex penthouse inside a former 1860 church in Greenwich Village, and he’s raised the price by about $4 million since it first went up for sale in June.

The penthouse at 135 West 4th Street is now listed for $18,995,000, the New York Post first reported.

The building was originally the Washington Square Methodist Church, known as the Peace Church, and it was turned into an eight-unit condo called Novare in 2006, according to the listing. Stained-glass windows from the old church appear throughout the apartment.

The upper level has 20-foot wood-clad ceilings, exposed ductwork and an open chef’s kitchen with graphic tilework and a large island. The kitchen and living area lead out to a 500-square-foot private terrace with an outdoor kitchen.

Downstairs, two bedroom suites sit on either side of a media room that could be converted into a third bedroom, and the home has three bathrooms in all.

At 3,504 square feet, the asking price works out to about $5,420 per square foot. Common charges and taxes add up to roughly $9,860 a month. StreetEasy puts the median asking price for a three-bedroom in Greenwich Village at $3.95 million, less than a quarter of what Van Zandt is seeking.

Van Zandt, 75, and his wife, actress Maureen Van Zandt, paid $6 million for the apartment in 2008, per the Post. It first hit the market in June for $15 million with a different brokerage and came off the market at the end of July, according to StreetEasy’s price history. The new price is about 27% higher.

Van Zandt isn’t the building’s first famous resident. Jude Law once rented a different penthouse there, the Post reports.

“The sellers hope the next owner will enjoy this unique slice of NYC as much as they have over the last 18 years,” listing agent Mark D. Friedman of Brown Harris Stevens told the Post.
