A Beloved SoHo Bistro Is Being Reborn as a Steakhouse With a $195 Ribeye

A cozy SoHo favorite is getting a total makeover, and the new version comes with caviar, a big-name artist on the walls and some serious steak prices.

Little Prince, at 199 Prince Street, is becoming ROMY, a steakhouse set to open Tuesday, Sept. 29, Time Out New York reported.

The switch is an inside job. ROMY comes from restaurateur Cobi Levy, the same operator behind Little Prince, as well as Lola Taverna and Cucina Alba.

Levy has assembled a heavyweight roster. Chef Lucrezia Stella runs the kitchen, while cocktails come from Miroo Kim, who previously worked at Atomix. The wine list is in the hands of Adam Waddell, formerly of Eleven Madison Park, and Spencer Choi-Schagrin, who comes from Jean-Georges.

Designer Rafael de Cárdenas handled the interiors, and the walls will feature artwork by painter George Condo.

Steak is the star. The lineup includes a 12-ounce Niman Ranch strip served au poivre, a dry-aged Snake River Farms porterhouse and a 20-ounce Westholme Wagyu ribeye that Time Out priced at $195.

For a splashier start, there’s a $150 Kaluga caviar service that comes with housemade potato chips.
