Justine’s on Hudson, the polished West Village wine bistro whose wine list came straight from one of the country’s most respected importers, is closing. But its team says this isn’t the last neighbors will see of the space.

The restaurant will serve its final dinner on Saturday, October 17, according to an announcement on Instagram. “This is not goodbye,” the team wrote, adding that something new is coming to the corner very soon. They haven’t said what it’ll be yet, and they’re inviting patrons to stop in before then for one more meal and a final toast.

Justine’s opened at 518 Hudson Street in April 2023. It’s named for owner Justine Rosenthal, whose father, Neal Rosenthal, founded the importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant. According to Resy, the wine list was built from wines his company imports, and most of the greens on the menu were grown on his Dutchess County farm. The intimate room holds about 30 seats.

At opening, chef Jeanne Jordan, previously chef de cuisine at the now-closed Mas (Farmhouse), built a menu with French and Filipino influences. Time Out gave the restaurant four stars about a month after it opened, calling its wasabi and red wine marinated American Wagyu hanger steak the best steak its critic had eaten at a new restaurant that year. The Infatuation rated it an 8.5.

We’ll update you once Justine’s reveals what’s coming to the corner.
